Des centaines d'arbres ont été détruits par la tempête qui a frappé la partie nord de la ville et certaines petites îles de sa lagune, dont Sant'Elena, Sant'Erasmo et Certosa. Selon l'agence de la protection civile locale, la tornade qui a causé "de lourdes pertes", mais uniquement materiels, ont également endommagé plusieurs bâtiments et les bateaux. Quelque 15 enfants qui allaient à un stage de voile dans le lagon de Venise ont été secourus par la police après avoir pris au piège dans le conteneur dans lequel ils s'étaient réfugiés.
