Au far west, il faut commencer très tôt à s'habituer aux coutumes locales. C'est ainsi que ce jeune garçon va monter pour la première fois son premier taureau. Fort heureusement, il n'est pas très jeune et surtout pas sauvage. Malgré tout, il s'en souviendra toute sa vie.
